Live Beijing Music: The Hormones (Temple 30.10.2014)

By William Griffith- Live Beijing Music

Found myself killing some time in the Gulou area a few weeks back and had the pleasure of checking out Chengdu outfit The Hormones with the one and only Foukographer at Temple – a tag team if I ever saw one. The female-led dance punk outfit were on tour promoting their EP Elephant, and gotta say, they were quite impressive. Girls got chops.

It certainly helps that the band is entirely made up of women, fresh into adulthood, which adds a certain innocence and vulnerability to the dark wave that creeps into their music. And having backing vocals that isn’t some dude crooning – always a plus in my book. Check below for more and get over to Foukograper’s photoset for some red-hot photos of the band.

Jerry! Hello!!

Jerry shows the safe hands that have scored more touchdowns than any man on Earth.

One supremely happy Cereprods team and one legendary NFL superstar.

One supremely happy Cereprods team and one legendary NFL superstar.

Last night the Cereprods team were lucky enough to be invited to meet the mythical and legendary winner of 3, that's THREE Superbowl's, Jerry Rice, during his tour of China to promote the National Football League. Spirits were high as we relived some of Jerry's career and amazing feats in the name of sports.

Held at Beijing's Kerry Center, we had the chance to interview Mr. Rice before the event and discussed the Chinese tour so far, Jerry's life after the big game and, of course, those dancin' shoes.

Recorded as part of the first episode of our new show: Sporting Season: China Edition, watch this space for updates and the interview itself.

Why is Jerry the best? Well, aside from being the greatest American footballer to ever don a jersey, because it is the fans that have always been #1 in his eyes. True legend.
